Internet Explorer Troubleshooting Manual

 

Intro to Internet Explorer

 

 

Diagram 1:1

 

In diagram 1:1 you can see a whole bunch of icons where it says Internet Explorer make a left click with the mouse button. A screen should pop up like this one in diagram 2:2

This is the main page, or in technical jargon, Homepage. If you look at the whole picture you will see a:

 

  1. Search Field – That where you can search for certain criteria that you put there, the search button next to it executes the certain criteria that you ask for to be in the search.

 

  1. A scroll bar on the right – That will appear on every website that is more than one page long.

 

  1. You will see on the very top an address bar – That is where you can type in a web address of your choice.

 

  1. You will see a whole bunch of buttons on the top of your screen, the ones we will talk about are:

 

*   The back button

*   The front button

*   The stop button

*   The Refresh

*   The Homepage

*   The Search

*   And Favorites                  Back Button

The back button

 

The back button let’s you go back if you are on a website and wish to either go to the criteria search that you did or go back to a previous website that you visited. The same thing happens when you press the front button.

 

The Front button

 

The Front button let’s you go forward only if you have clicked on a website and have gone back with the back button.

The stop button allows you to stop a search request in the middle if you by mistake click on a link that you don’t want you can stop that search and go back with the back button to the previous thing that you wanted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                             Refresh button

Refresh Button

 

The refresh button is there so that if you need to refresh a website because you got disconnected or that you know that, that particular website is refreshed every five minutes then you can click on it and the website reloads itself and downloads the updated website.

 

 

The Homepage Button

 

The Homepage Button is there so that you can easily go back to your homepage within one click of the mouse button. As shown in diagram 6:6 that is what the actual button will look like on the screen.

The Search Button

The search button pops up a search box like in diagram 7:7 that allows you to search for websites.

If you click on the other options they can help you search for a better type of search that you are doing. And again if you click on previous searches a screen will pop up all the searches that you have conducted in the past.

 

The Favorites button

The favorites button has in it all your favorites or favorites that a company put for your use. If you click on one of these favorites there website will pop up for you the cookie, which is a saved document of the website is saved to your cookies in Windows and that is where all your favorites are.

 

 

 

 

Search Engines

There are several search engines that are good to use to get certain criteria that you want the biggest of them all is google.com here are a list of search engines for your convenience:
