To set the date and time you may or may not be able to
depending on how many rights you where given. If you are an administrator or
just a plain home user you will be able to set the date and the time with no
problems. If you are not a home user and are a network user contact your system
administrator to change your date and time settings for you.
To set the date and time follow these directions:
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel as shown in diagram 1:1

You should be getting a screen like this one in diagram 2:2
after you have double clicked on Control Panel.
In the Control Panel go where it says Date/Time and double click
to get into that screen as soon as you double click on this icon a screen will
pop up like this:

Here you can change the month, year, date, time, and time
zone. If you click on the arrows for the time, you can change the time to
either your correct time or from AM to PM. The Time Zone can be changed by
simply clicking on the arrow and looking for the correct location and time and
select as shown in diagram 4:4.

You can scroll down the list and after you have selected the
type you want just click Apply and then OK.
Of course you know what daylight savings time is, but how do
you get the computer to automatically recognize that it is daylight savings
time? On the same date and time settings there’s a little check box that says
‘Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings changes’. You need to make
sure that there’s a check in the check box so that the Windows will determine
that. After applying that setting click on Apply and then OK before proceeding
to exit. Sometimes the Windows will ask you to reboot tell it OK or manually
reboot so that the settings can properly take into effect.
